I am a mechanical engineer by trade and have been involved in the building and remedial industry for over 35 years. Starting with 9 years at Safeguard Preservation, a Plymouth based specialist treatments company who worked directly for Plymouth City Council, the building trade and the general public. We carried out timber treatments including dry rot, woodworm and death watch beetle along with wall tie replacement, damp proofing and waterproofing both above and below ground. They were approved contractors for Triton Systems who later employed me in 2002 as their South West area technical sales manager. I was with them for 21 happy years during which time they were amalgamated into the Wykamol Group.
